Sighting Details

What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

The UFO was round and was kind of flattened at top and bottom, very bright white light. It had to be at least 20 feet in circumference.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

The UFO seemed to appear over the city of Galax, VA which was behind the mountain range and hovered there for approx. 5 minutes and then excellerated farther south over the mountain range some 2 or 3 miles at a very fast clip. Hovering for maybe 10 seconds then coming back at the same amount of speed over the city. The UFO hovered for another 10 minutes and then sped off to the south again and out of sight.

Any additional comments :

My brother (age 16)and I had been to the movies and had gotten back home about 10:00pm and were standing in front of our home looking at the light eminating from the city over the mountains when the light appeared. We both agreed not to tell anyone about this for fear that they would think we were making up the story. I am 63 years old now and don't care what people think, so that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
