Sighting Details

What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

The object was cylindrical and appeared metallic. Approx 10 times longer than it was wide flying in vertically. It was drifting slowly south-eastwards for about 30 seconds.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

The object was howvering/moving slowly at what appeared to be very high altitude though there were no nearby reference points, there were several high flying aircraft in the sky at the time. After about 30 seconds I moved to get a better vantage point and looked into teh sky and it had disappeared dispite the fact that there were no clouds in that part of the sky.

Any additional comments :

I have a good quality digital photograph which my neighbour could confirm was not doctored as he was in his garden at the same time as I was taking the picture. The photograph includes the edge of my roof as a reference point.
