Sighting Details

What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

A large cerise/pink ball of light, lighting up the surrounding sky, it was appx 1000ft moving slowly as it moved away it appeared to be an oblong shape with lighter strip to the rear.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

initially appeared to be a ball assuming an oblong shape.

no apparant sound, defeinitely not a coventional aircraft. I understand from newspaper reports there were other witnesses.
