What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

It was like a small ball of light. Like a signal flair. White glow.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

Yes. It moved in a straight line, "winked out", then a second later, came "back on" and shot off in a steep angle upwards at a very fast rate.
