ball of light. brighter than a star

hovered,then crossed the sky in eratic forward movement and vanished into distance.

clear skies, had spotted satellites and shooting stars most of night,this was definetly a flying object and was witnessed by myself and a friend while camping,seemed low like a helicopter but made no sound with white light, like a very bright star.
