What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

It's size would have been similar to a plane if it had been flying way too close to the house. It appeared to have red and white lights upon two wings. My initial impression was that it was a plane.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

Through the skylight i thought it was an approaching plane and wanted to observe it passing overhead. I switched to the back bedroom skylight and there was nothing where one might reasonably assume it to be on a path.I think maybe upon reflection it was stationary.

Any additional comments :

My initial thought was that it was a plane and i hurried to the back room to watch it fly by. I was excited as i thought it was way too close and colourful. Upon seeing nothing i remembered that it also gave off no noise where you might reasonably have expected quite a lot.
