What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

The UFO was a very high polished silver color. It had an oval/round shape. There were no windows. No lights. No wings or tail, like a plane would have. No identifing lettering or numbering like a plane would have. And absolutely no sound!!!

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

Yes, it was stationary in the sky above our local ski resort moutain. Approximately 1000 to 2000 feet above the moutain ridge. It sat there as my husband and I looked at it in disbelief. Then it angled at about 45 degrees and shot up and disappeared out of the atmosphere. Unbelievable and amazing!!!

It was about 6:00 am on a warm summer morning at the end of July 1984. I was 5 months along with my first child and was experiencing extreme cravings for a fudge bar (ice cream) and a teriyaki beef stick. My husband and I decided to walk the few blocks to the corner mini-mart. I remember the morning and how beautifully clear and quiet it was. I thought it odd that we didn't even hear the Blue Jays making their usual noises. We got to the store. I bought what I was craving for and we walked out and headed back home. Not a cloud in the sky that morning. The sun was very warm. We walked the side street behind the store. My husband and I stopped, embraced eachother and kissed. As we were kissing, I opened my eyes and saw the UFO above us. I stopped kissing my husband and pushing him away slightly, I was frozen in the spot I stood in and quietly told him to look up and not to move. He did. Without taking my eyes off the object, I quietly asked him, if he was seeing what I was seeing? He said he thought so and then asked me what I was seeing. I told him I was looking at a UFO. He said he was looking at a UFO. This object sat in the sky above the moutain ridge with no movement, no sound, nothing... I said, I see no windows, no wings or tail like a plane would have. No identification marking what so ever. He concured. As we stood there looking at it and discussing it, the object suddenly angeled at about 45 degress and shoot up and out of the atmosphere. We watched it until we could no longer see it. I felt awed and scared at the same time. I started to tremble and cry and hugged my husband very tightly. I asked him, if we were sure of what we just saw? He said, he was absolutely sure. I told him that we could never, ever tell anyone for fear of ridicule. Not even our family members. We got home quickly and went to our room. I turned on the local radio station and listened as people in the Tahoe area were calling in and reporting the UFO sighting. We never reported it and never told another person, for about 10 years or so. When I think about it from time to time, it seems so unreal, but I know it was very, very real. Through the years I have seen alot of other UFO's, but nothing as close or as big as the one my husband and I saw that July morning.
