Sighting Details

What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

simply a bright white light, travelling probably due northwards

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

from the time I saw it it travelled through an arc of about 60 degrees then, still travelling in the same direction appeared to travel upwards at very high speed and out of sight

Any additional comments :

The night was exceptionally clear with very a good view of the stars and aeroplanes. There was no sound associated with the bright light
