Sighting Details

1 What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :
Looking at the clear night sky, two lights travelled from east to west turning north. I am unsure if the two lights were part of a single object or two separate objects. Taking the stars of the plough (past which they travelled) as about one eighth of an inch, the objects were about 1 and a half inches in diameter. The lights were circular, and duller than the stars, a kind of orange hue.

2Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

No. They travelled together side by side separated by a distance approximately 5-6 times their diameter. They did not travel in a dead straight line as would a plane, there was a slight variation of the distance seperating them as they travelled along. I spotted them coming from the east, they went across the sky before turning together to the right in a northerly direction. As they turned the separating distance between them narrowed as if the two lights were two seperate objects. I considered this for a while and realised it could have been that the narrowing of their separation distance could possibly have been caused by the tilting of a single object if the lights were situated on the extremeties of the object, like a plane wing-tip lights. if indeed it was a single object!

3How long did you see the UFO for :

Any additional comments :

I gave the experience some considerable thought and analysis after the sighting. Considering the size of the circular lights, and not knowing their height or true size, together with the speed of travel, I am convinced they were not of traditional aircraft. The one thing that impressed me was that they made no sound whatsoever! Planes were travelling about in the night sky, and except for the most distant of them, all were tiny spots of twinkling light, and many I could hear their sound after they passed over. Bearing in mind their apparent visual size to me, and with no sound, they were obviously enormously large at a distance for no sound to be heard, or they were at the apparent distance i.e. they appeared to be as low as a fairly low flying aircraft, I would certainly have heard their sound. I could not estimate thier speed not knowing their distance, but they appeared at about 2 o'clock to my zenith, travelled west, turned north and dissapeared at about 2-40 on the clock dial in about 6 seconds. Hope you understand my explanation!
