It looked like a football, orangey brownish colour

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

It was moving very quickly in a straight line

It struck us as strange as we were just sitting in our garden and it suddenly appeared from the distance then at a very fast speed went over the tops of the houses then disappeared again.It wasn't a bird or anything similar.My first thoughts were that it was a balloon but the shape,colour and how far up the object was just wasn't possible to be so.In the garden were myself,my husband and my 7 year old daughter and we all witnessed it.
