Sighting Details
What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :
Dull orange glow, moving rapidly from South West to North. No flashing lights. No flames from any kind of exhaust. FLight was completely silent. Object appeared to be something flat and very wide.
Object just appeared to move very quickly but steadily from South West to North. We are on flight path for Liverpool John Lennon airport, so I am used to seeing various aircraft flying over. As I am an amateur astronomer, I am used to seeing satellites passing overhead, and meteors shooting across the sky. This did not appear to be a satellite. It appeared to be much lower in the sky (as it appeared to be a large object) and was certainly moving too fast for a satellite, but too slow for a meteor - it did not burn out like a meteor does, it just dissapeared rapidly into the distance.

Just followed it with my eyes for about 8 or 9 seconds. Ran through house to front door, but whatever I saw had gone. Night was crystal clear. I was observing the night sky without my telescope. (8" Skywatcher Newtonion Reflector).
