Sighting Details
What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :
Just one object - kind of flat metallic looking - obviously I was very young at the time - but due to the time and date of sighting it was very sunny and the light was reflecting on the object making it shine ( like mother of pearl - blue and red) but not lights. It was travelling north to south and was definately not an aeroplane, not on a regular flight path ( my dad listened in to radio broadcasts at the time between pilots and control towers - highly illegal).
Yes, it was moving very slow when I first saw it, thought it was an airship at first, but it did not dip up and down, I called my mum to come and look, but before she came up the object had shot off like a rocket and disappeared - nothing then or even now can accelerate like that.

This object was spotted by a lot of people in the Enfield/ Brimsdown area, it was even mentioned in a magazine article (Titbits), witnesses in Brimsdown reported that it had actually lowered into a large cooling tower at a dis-used power station - the cooling tower was later blown up in a controlled explosion in August 79.
