Sighting Details
What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :
I was visiting China as my wife is Chinese. The last two nights, we were staying in a hotel right in the centre of Beijing. We saw strange phenomena both nights. On the first night my wife was making a phone call to her mum using a street phone at roughly 8pm. I happened to glance up in the sky and saw 2 flashing white lights - similar to those you get on aeroplanes however I noticed they were moving in a highly irregular pattern. It was hard to tell how high or far away the objects were, or the size, although they seemed fairly close. There was definate mass behind the lights, the reason being that we were lucky to have quite a full moon that night and once or twice the lights passed in front of it and I was able to see the silhouette (is that spelt right??) of something or other - Hard to tell the shape as this was only momentary. Eventually the lights were lost behind the high rises (still moving irregularly). The sighting lasted approximately half an hour. The second night we were in the hotel on the seventh floor. Once dark, I looked out of the window to see if there was anything going on. It took me a while to realise, but there were three odd lights. This time they were a lot further away as they were much more difficult to see - this is why it took me a while to pick up on them. Two of the lights were dark blue/purple in colour and I was just able to percieve them moving up and down, very slowly - almost un-noticable. In the middle was a white light, very low (just above the tall buildings) and very faint (I was just able to percieve it) but clearly larger than the points of light that were the stars. However this light was the most interesting as it would occassional increase its magnitude in brightness several fold so that it was clearly noticeable. It also moved side to side on the horizon just above the tall buildings, slowly but easily noticeable. Eventually all the lights were lost behind the tall buildings as the night wore on. The sighting must have lasted a good 1 to 2 hours.
The ufo's on the first night didn't really hover, but rather stayed in roughly the same place and moved around erratically although they were moving left to right slowly as they eventually disappeared behind the buildings on the right hand side of the street. On the second night, all three ufo's were hovering and slowly moving - The purple lights gently up and down, the white light to to right. On this night however the ufo's appeared to be very far away, as if on the horizon.

I have never seen anything like this before or since, but have avidly searched the net for any similar sightings. There are some good videos on youtube and the like, especially the programs such as the disclosure project.
