What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

there were 3 of us in my friends back garden when a white light floated above his house roof and then started to speed up and gradually fainted and shot upwards with a white flash

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

it zoomed of quickly and faded into the night with a white flash
