very bright round light. could not judge size against dark background

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

followed parallel to car traveling in, then accelerated away,upward at45 deg.into clear stary sky and vanished from sight

My father noticed light first, I wound down window to verify that it was not an optical occurance .the object sped away at a rate I had never imagined possible
