Sighting Details
What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :
like a vertical rectangle but wider at the base. looked transparent glowing orange with a 'flame-like' collumn in the centre which was very bright. This is the strange thing, the flame-like thing was constantly moving BUT not in a random fashion, as a real flame would move. It seemed to oscilate constantly in exactly the same pattern. On approach it looked quite large.
When my Wife & I first saw it, it was coming toward us from the South-West & it seemed very slow & smooth. After about 3 minutes it veered off in the direction of Leeds which is roughly north of me. Myself & Wife & Son watched the thing apparently accelerating at high speed, within 60 seconds it was so small it disappeared.

There has been quite a few reporting of similar sightings in this area in recent weeks, of which i was very sceptical. This experience has completely changed that. Could i add, that i have been a keen Aviation & Scanner Enthusiast for quite a few years now & with my limited knowledge of Air-nav, Air Traffic-Control, Radar, Baloons etc, i cannot possibly think that this Object is a bona-fida Aircraft of any type.
