New Mexico school board expands space for National UFO Historical Records Center
The Rio Rancho Public Schools board voted 4-1 on 17 September to give the National UFO Historical Records Center a classroom at its RioTECH campus under an amended partnership. In return, the centre must raise its public lectures from six to twelve a year and help set up a student club on UFO records. Board member Michael Berry dissented, saying he did not think the partnership served the district's interests. Superintendent Robert Dodd said the archive offers students access to what he called a unique collection of historical records, and district leaders said a possible Pentagon contract to digitise the collection could later bring paid internships.
