SIGHTING REPORT UFO sighting at in NJ, in backyard, westernsky

It was a bright white/yellow light above the treeline in the western sky. It didn't blink at all and was the size of a large star or planet. It was probably several miles away from our house and at a fairly low altitude. Our police radio reported it and my dad went outside to check it out. After he spotted it, he called all of us outside to watch.

The UFO stayed in the same general area but moved from side to side disappearing behind taller trees then reappearing on theother side of the tree (the trees were simply blocking the view but were not close to the UFO). The nearby airforce base sent out a plane or helicopter and as they approached the light, it sped away in a flash.

This was my first sighting. After that, I would sit outside at night and watch the sky for hours. I saw at least two other UFOs during that summer in other parts of the sky. What I saw was lights that moved differently from any known aircraft and then would disappear as though they had sped off at the speed of light. I never saw a UFO close enough to see a shape.
