What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
It was dark silver in colour and looked like a "wedding cake."
There were three layers, the largest at the bottom, then a smaller section and finally the upper section.
Onthe bottom layer there looked like windows. Maybe eight, the middle layer had roughly four and two on the top.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
The UFO hovered there, about 500 ft to my left hand side.

I know that it was early in the morning and I might have still been a touch sleepy but this "thing " was just there.....
