SIGHTING REPORT UFO sighting at apple valley Ca

I did'nt exactly see a specific shape but more of a cluster of bright lights at 4:00pm PST in the afternoon in Apple Valley Ca (70miles northeast of Los Angeles). At first I thought it was fireworks going off but as I kept staring, the cluster got bright again. This event happened east of the city out about 25 miles or so??This happened for about five minutes. I called my very good friend to go outside to see if she could see it and she could'nt. She laughed and thought I was pulling her leg. The event was still happening as i drove into the parking lot at work and as I got out of my car, I was going to ask a fellow co-worker walking by if he could see something but decided not as not to look or sound crazy. The strangest part about this is a news report broke about 930pm (PST) on CNN with radio communication between high altitude flights and air traffic controllers in the Los Angeles region all the way up the West Coast being lost as flights were grounded for 3 hours! The lights disappeared for about one minute and then a dim orb of light proceeded to go west, south west? I was watching it for about five seconds and then it faded off.

I've never reported an event like this due to the fact that if I had'nt seen it, I don't believe it. But since I witnessed this event, I'm compelled to tell others.
