What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
It looked like an upside down teacup (without the handle)
There was a very dim light just visible from underneath which seemed to pulsate.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
The ufo just hovered in the sky.

Our bedroom window gives a great view over the severn valley so I look out every time I get the chance.
On this ocassion I could hear my neighbours animals stirring during the night so I had a look out of the curtains half expecting to see nothing but darkness.
I was taken aback to see this object (UFO?) hovering up in the sky about maybe 1000ft.
Our area gets used by the RAF as a flight path for training runs for both fast jets and hercules transport planes so we may see a couple of military planes a week.
I am pretty sure my sighting had nothing to do with military activity.
This is the crazy thing - one minute I was watching it - the next it was gone!
