CSIGHTING DETAILS

1

What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:

At first,(relative to its distance from us)just the size of a tennis ball, perfectly rounded in shape and glowing a very bright "silver" colour, with a slight "pulsating" appearance.
2

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:

The object stopped extremely high in the sky - MUCH higher than any aircraft - directly above us,just "hovering". After about 45 seconds, the object "swelled" dramatically,to the apparent size of a football, although we could tell it was obviously much larger: the glow became intense, and illuminated the sky around it,like a giant firework "sparkler".
It then grew even bigger, before suddenly zooming ever higher at tremendous speed, into the sky ,following an arc-like trajectory, and disappearing completely from view within a matter of seconds. Its speed appeared to be thousands of MPH.

Any additional comments:

Four of us witnessed this, ranging in age from 22 to 41. We were travelling in our car, back from Torquay,Devon,UK,to our camping site on a hillside near Brixham. The sky was completely clear, and moonless. The driver pointed out the bright light, and we watched as it did a slow, curving "zigzag" motion across the sky, and,to all intents and purposes,it appeared to be FOLLOWING us! (Although I say 4 of us witnessed this, several other people on the site also saw it!)
Talking next day,we heard that there had indeed been a "UFO" sighting in that area of south west England.
Not one of had been drinking, etc.
