CSIGHTING DETAILS
What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
Like a bright white light. It was most roughly spherical but also elongated (i.e round shape a bit squashed. The sun had gone down and the undersides of the clouds were red so the sun was presumably shining on it. There was no vapour trail though it was clear sky in the half of the sky it was in.
Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
We thought it was stationery when we first saw it but after a while it started moving west. It seemed to me to go away from us faster and faster until sinking out of sight belwo the horizon.
Any additional comments:
I took photos. I would like to know if any commercial or military aircraft were in the sky at that time as i am not sure I believe in UFOs. It was Christmas day afternoon. But there was no vapour trail even though it was cold and a cloudless sky where the object was. Once the object got moving, it was moving far to fast to be a balloon. Actually I rather think it was moving to fast to be a commercial aircraft. (I live under the Heathrow flight path).
