SIGHTING REPORT UFO sighting at in the sky between Wellington

3 large steady white lights in a horizontal row, moving on a level course in a generally south direction slower than an aeroplane faster than a balloon.

I lost sight of it from my bedroom window behind the neighbouring house so went to the landing window to see it come from behind the house which it would have done if it had maintained its steady course but I didn't see it again and I waited a good ten minutes (on the clock, not my estimation).

I saw several aeroplanes in the sky just after I saw the ufo and could hear their engines. I heard no sound from the ufo although I did hear a dog barking in the village which is most unusual for this time of night.
When I saw the ufo the sky was clear, when I came back to my bedroom window from looking through the landing window, there was a large white cloud where I had seen the ufo - just there no clouds anywhere else in my view of the sky.
The lights were very large, there were no clouds to show them up as beams. There was a space between the lights about the same width as the width of the lights themselves.
