CSIGHTING DETAILS

What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
The object appeared as two shiny black spheres joined together and floating with a 20 degree list. Sunlight reflected off the top. Estimated size was roughly that of a Volkswagon Beetle. Speed appeared to bu under 200mph, roughly the same as a fast small plane, if my assesment of the scale/distance is correct. I did try and triangulate with ground objects.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
The object generated white smokey "Contrails" of a very strange nature. They appeared behind the obect FULLY FORMED for about 5-10 seconds and then faded away. They did not trail from the object but appeared as a fully formed line stretching behind the object. Also, the contrails did not always form directly behind the object, at least twice they appeared to form at about 30 degrees to either side of the main track of the object.

Any additional comments:
This incident was wittnessed by at least eight other people I was
with, some in a boat off shore and the others onshore with myself.
It raised quite a commotion as we all pointed and stared. No one took
any photos. The observers in the boat reported seeing a second object
up near the sun which "disapeared". They also reported seeing
gossimer like streams trailing behind the object.
One of the viewers is a pilot, and I am quite experienced at observ-
ing and identifiing aircraft as well. This object did not apear to be
any known aircraft or natural event.
