large oblong silver shape

it hovered for about 10 minutes moving from left to right
Any additional comments:
there were 2 other adults with me. we watched the object for about 10 minutes then suddenly it shot right across the sky above our heads it was so fast we just saw a streak of light. There was no noise and it was too fast to be an aircraft.
