CSIGHTING DETAILS

1

What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:

It appeared like a small light in the night sky. At first we thought it was a star or planet like venus or mars, although it appeared somewhat nearer to us than a star. After we had been looking at it for a few seconds we realised it was changing colour randomly - silver, red, green, its brightness was changing randomly too. Although it appeared stationary for most of the time, it made intermittent random movements. We saw several planes, a helicopter and a shooting star while watching the object and it was not like any of these.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:

Yes, it hovered for a good hour or so with odd movements to the side, in circles and up and down but only sightly. Almost like it was trying to steady its position on occaision but it wasnt a 'uniform' type movement at all. The movements were completely uncharacteristic of any manned object Ive ever seen. Quite slow, unpredicable and random. After watching it for an hour we went to bed. An hour later one of us checked and it had gone.

Any additional comments:

There were four of us eventually watching this so it can be validated as a geniune sighting. It was not a plane or helicopter as it moved very differently. We dont think it was a 'natural' phenomenon as it appeared to have changing light colours and was stationary for over an hour with some slight movement. The only incident we can link it to is a helicopter crash about 40 miles away but we have not read any reports of unusual airbourne vehicles being used in any search operations.
