it was a green glowing object with an orange center
Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
no, it just streaked across the sky toward the ground. this was odd due to the fact I am a deputy sheriff and there should have been a report of an aircraft crash or meteor striking the ground

I would have not even reported this event to you but a fellow officer discribed an identical event two days ago on 072599 the incident was almost as if I had told him about mine. down to the size color and direction of travel of the object in question
