CSIGHTING DETAILS
What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
Large pulsating ball of orange/red light. Difficult to estimate size as I was viewing from around two miles away.
Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
There was thick cloud cover at around 800 feet, almost like a continuous grey blanket. The UFO descended through the clouds, pulsating at a frequency of around 0.5 Hz. It hovered just below the cloud layer for at least one minute, then slowly ascended through the clouds and disappeared.

I called the police who confirmed other people had called in. There was a report in the local paper next day.
