What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
A Orange/Red star like dot in the sky.
Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
It simply stayed still in the sky then after a half a minute faded slowly.
Any additional comments:
Two of us saw it, hovering in the sky south east of our location then a few days later I saw it again in the south east but as I was traveling so it was obsured from view before I could see it fade.
I saw on a programme that some modern large telescopes to see through the earths atmosphere send some kind of ray or signal into the sky causing a "star like light" in the atmosphere. I don't know if there any of these telescopes in the U.K or Europe, but it could offer an explanation. If the colour of the light caused by this signal is red then that would be good evidence.
