CSIGHTING DETAILS
What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
A bright white light about the size of a star,it's actual size I dont know it was a long way off.maybe a couple of miles away.This was along time ago around 1978 - 1980
Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
I dont know how it first caught my eye but what amazed me was the speed, it was quite high in the sky hovering then it just went straight up at unbeleivable speed and dissapeared.This was a clear night with no cloud I do remember that.

I was talking to a freind that night who unfortunately had her back turned to it we were waiting for a lift from a freind.
