SIGHTING REPORT UFO sighting at From bedroom window

The ufo was a flying saucer shape. It had a domed top and bottom and it had lights around the underside that flashed in sequence one after another around the edge of the craft. The size would be difficult to judge but I would say that it was 30 or 40 feet accross.

It was moving accross the night sky on the horizon. It seemed to move from one exact point to another and back again, there was no over flight. It hit its marks exactly every time. We were looking at it from a dark bedroom when thelight was switched on, it stopped as though it had seen the light and then it came straight towards the house.

I was only young at the time and my mother was putting my sister and I to bed. It was later than our usual time being between 10.30 pm and 11.00 pm. My mothers habbit was to always close the curtains before putting on the light and she would look out onto the quiate street where we live. That particuler night mother called my sister and I to the window, I remember her saying whats that and indecating to the hill that looked down to our house. When I looked I could see an object moving back and forth on the horizen, it was very exacting in its movment. I had my nose pressed against the window pane and because we were in a dark room i sugested that omeone put the light on, as the light went on the object stopped dead in its tracks it was ust as though it had seen the light. It then started to move towards us but with the light on its reflection aginst the window made it more dificult to see, so the light was turned off now the object was comming diectly for our house and it passed directly over. It was then that I could see the lights on the undern side, there was no noise, posibly a slight hum, it passed quite slowly over the house we then ran into the back bedroom and saw it disapear off towards the local park. I felt somewhat frightend but soon got over the experence. Then sometime later my mother showed me a report in the local paper that a retired policeman had seen the same object as us as he was putting his car away for the night. I have looked for that report in my local library but there is so much to look through. People said that we probably saw a helicopter but that just dosen't stand up, this was the early sixties and we saw this object at night, I don't think that helicopters would have been flying at night in those days and secondly the noise that a helicopter makes today makes everyone awair of what it is. In those days it would have probably have made more noise and it would surely have fetched out some of our neighbours to see what was making the noise but no-one did and no-one mentioned it the next day either. My mother is no longer alive and my sister says that she can hardly remember the incident, but hand on hart what I have told you is the whole truth. If I could get hold of that report in the local paper that would help.
