CSIGHTING DETAILS

What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
Thought it may have been a meteorite at first, traveling from the north west in straight line, constant speed like commercial aircraft. Bright orange light like fire, seemed to be flickering.
NO engine sound at all. May have been aircraft with engine fire? estimate 5000feet altitude. Good visibility. no sign of usual aircraft navigation lights just the one flickering orange light like fire?
Kept constant altitude so not meteor burning up, moving to slow anyway. Moving at same speed as would be expected of airliner.
Kept at same speed and altitude, no change of direction, traveling in straight line until out of sight.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
Had same sort of behaviour as an aircraft traveling in straight line from north west to south east.
Seen plenty of aircraft here (near to exeter airport)but not without any engine noise.
Dont think it was plane/ helecopter - no navigation lights other than the orange flame like light. Flickering did not seem to be constant, was erratic hence my first guess of it being a meteorite.
UNIDENTIFIED by me as aircraft.
