CSIGHTING DETAILS
What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
the object was round and bright orange in colour
Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
the sky was very dark with cloud but there was a clear patch as the clouds had'nt yet merged(when i say slouds it was more like dark night sky with a lighter area running between the two).
I was looking up at the sky on my way to work and a bright orange light appeared on the edge of the left hand cloud,it was there for maybe a second or two motionless the sped to the right hand cloud as fast as a shooting star but was much larger.

Any additional comments:
i was driving to work as i work nights and was at the time being followed by another work colleague who when i questioned about it later also saw the light and thought it was a shooting star.
I have seen many shooting stars and this was much larger and was not moving when i first spotted it.
