SIGHTING REPORT UFO sighting at high in the sky

Not sure on shape.
It was as bright as venus (pure brilliant white), but much closer.
Had the size of venus.
Nothing else in the sky to compare it with as it was still light enough to see the sky (ie if aircraft or birds were flying, I would have been able to clearly identify them as the sun was still setting).
No sounds.

It suddenly appeared from nowhere directly in my vision, moved north from south slowly, then just vanished as if someone turned the light out.

I was on the phone at the time telling a friend where to look in the sky for venus, I was looking directly at venus in the centerfield of my sight.
The object just appeared from nowhere, easily spotted because of the brightness distracting me to look more lower right of venus.
The wind was very light, blowing in completely the opposite direction to that which the object travelled.
The object appeared in the pale/pastel blue part of the evening sky, far higher than the reds of the sunset.
If you hold a ruler at arms length while looking at venus, I would say the object travelled four inches before vanishing. (sorry I cant judge distances in the sky any other way like I can on land).
