CSIGHTING DETAILS
What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
A circular ball of fire with a lighter halo affect around it. The base of the ball seemed to have something resembling a jet thrust of fire - something like a Jump Jet. ie. a band of light heat with a central flame like core.
Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
It moved in a smooth ark, hovered for a short time and then moved off in an easterly direction in a gentle curve, but at a fairly fast pace.
Any additional comments:
It was completely silent. At first I thought it was a burning plane and then when it came closer (overhead) it seemed to hover and had a very clear jet coming from a larger circular band of heat or fire. I tried to identify it as a helicopter, but it just didn't make sense. One other person saw it too, but we didn't speak about it. I also wondered if it was a burning satelite in orbit, or breaking into the earths atmosphere.
