What i saw was a light, more of a rocket shape, but without the nose.
I do not know much about aliens but my friend is an alien research scientist and he showed me a picture, there are some similarities. It is a bit like a rod and it was a bright light, then the light went out and moved away at a fast pace and in a peculiar fashion that something such as a plane could not have moved in.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
Yes except it was hovering or moving slowly when i first saw it. and then after that the UFO started moving away in a jagged way. and at great speed. it was too different to be a plane or aircraft.

I know of another incident like this in Tonbridge and in other areas of England. Is it possible that this craft can be Aliens?
