CSIGHTING DETAILS
What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
Orange light/exhaust flame. No structure visible
Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
Flying south to north 1000 to 3000 feet at high speed, similar to fast jet at low level.
Any additional comments:
I am a former aircraft engineer and I am familiar with the sight and sound of fast jets. There was no sound at all, the background noise level was practically nil. If this had been a fast jet in reheat then the noise from the distance it appeared to be would have been cause for local complaint. The wind at the time was calm and the sky clear. Chinese lanterns do not move that quiclly, Fireworks do not burn for that long or maintain trajectory. I am a ufo sceptic but I can't explain this one.
