What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
oval area of flashing blue/white lights with an occasional red light at an indeterminate altitude.
Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
hovered at various altitudes before moving to increasingly higher altitudes and disappearing
Any additional comments:
there seemed to be an unusually large amount of air traffic at that time, indeed one aircraft flew at very low altitude south of my view point in an easterly direction before turning north turning north ie. red nav light was clearly visible when moving east and the turning manouevre brought the landing light directly into view before I lost sight of it. note it was a cloudless moonlit night and con-trails of other aircraft were discernable
