CSIGHTING DETAILS
What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
Size: very hard to say. sitting, hovering above a building, seemed very close yet was totally silent. quite large. able to distinguish certain featues quite clearly, as detailed below. However, the background colour of the 'craft' was a bright white that prevented any perception of texture or fine detail.
Cigar-shaped (I know it sounds cliche, but I swear to god it was)
Thin horizontal black line centrally placed both vertically and horizontally, about 50% of length of craft.
Bright white flashing light on top middle, frequency 1.5 seconds
Red lights, not flashing, at each end of craft.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
stationary for 2 - 3 minutes, then moved slightly, almost imperceptibly to the left and then went down slightly. then straight back quite fast. spent next 2 minutes moving round slowly and erratically, stopping or going back occasionally. gradually disappeared into the distance (over the horizon, not up towards space)
Any additional comments:
I've wanted to tell an expert about this for ages, but didn't know who to turn to. It wasn't just me that saw it. I had a friend with me. We're both very level-headed and scientifically minded and were totally unable to find a terrestrial explanation.
Please could you give me some feedback as to your opinion. I know the cigar shape is classic, but the flashing lights? is that normal? I'm not a UFO fanatic and really know very little about them.
Also, please could you email my description to me. I've got it written down on a scrap of paper with a little diagram (done at the time) but it's 6 years old and I did it in pencil so it's starting to fade away!
