SIGHTING REPORT UFO sighting at Rossall, Fleetwood, Lancashire

A collection of neighbours and myself watched as 4 orange lights floated past our houses on Thursday 1st March 2001 @ 6:50pm. This was recorded in the Fleetwood Gazette on Friday evening and the Town Gazette on Saturday evening - although with inaccurate information. We can not explain our sighting - and have informed LAPIS (the local UFO society). These orange lights were about 400m high in the sky. Any thoughts? These lights have been seen by many reputable individuals, including a neighbour who works for British Aerospace and is a keen Aviation Buff - he could not explain this phenomena. First sightings were on Sat 20th Jan at about 8pm. And numerous time since - could these be floating lanterns? I doubt this as they were around 3m in diameter and appeared like floating oil drums. There are many eye witness statements available from people on the Fylde estate, and most of us are watching and waiting every night. A neighbour has 2 poor specs on video tape before his battery pack failed - no one expects things like this to happen, and as most individuals will know - unless you have just been on holiday or to a special occasion - few people will be able to lay hands on a camera with film.. They appeared from the east, headed due west, and vanished over the Irish sea. There was no sound - no breeze and it was a clear frost night with bright stars.

They just hovered - with no state of urgency!

These lights moved out over the sea before moving behind one another and dissappearing. This phenomena waswitnessed by numerous fishermen and people out walking there dogs on the Rossall Beach!!
