What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
It was at a distance, but flickered different shades of red.
Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
It hovered in the sky for a few minutes, then raised up further in the sky slowly, then dissapeared.
Any additional comments:
I thought it might be Mars at first, cause Mars has been bright in the night sky for many nights now. But I thought Mars doesn't flicker like that, and the fact that Mars has been closer to the eastern horizon at that time of night in the southern sky. This object was due south. The "flickering" of the shades of red had me puzzeled. Then, I looked and found Mars in the sky (where Mars should be). Then, the object lifted up slowly in the sky, then vanished. I was driving to work at the time as I work grave yard. The next morning, I talked to my Dad who saw the same thing.
