It was silver metalic.
Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
Yes. It hovered then two Air Force fighters confronted it and it just left!!! The fighters appeared to be stuck in the sky.

My stepfather, mother and I all witnessed it. My stepfather was a Staff Sargent in the Air Force and was stationed at the tower at Wright-Patterson Air Force base.
My stepfather took my mother and I (very early one morning) with him to a hangar at the air field and we saw a flying saucer. It was in mid air inside the hangar. It was silver colored, flat on the bottom and domed on top, about 30' across and 10' high.
