Viewers claim 'mothership' trailed SpaceX Starship on orbital launch livestream
During the livestream of SpaceX's Starship Flight 14 orbital launch on 28 September, a curved streak of light appeared behind the spacecraft about eight minutes into the broadcast. Social media users speculated it was a UFO, and commentator Michael Salla suggested it could be a 'mothership' welcoming SpaceX to cislunar space. Others said the object was more likely ice or frozen propellant breaking off the vehicle, or exhaust gas expanding in the thin upper atmosphere. Neither SpaceX nor NASA has commented on the footage.

String of UFO sightings reported across New Jersey since August
New Jersey 101.5 reports that residents have filed more than a dozen UFO sighting reports with the National UFO Reporting Center over an eight-week period since early August 2026. A Pleasantville resident described 'a giant sphere flying horizontal' with an orange glow, a witness in Ewing reported fog in the sky with lights inside it, and an observer in Winslow Township said a cigar-shaped white object appeared to follow a plane before vanishing within minutes. The outlet said it doubted SpaceX launches or a local airport could explain all of the reports, though no official investigation or explanation has been offered.
