CSIGHTING DETAILS
What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
2 bright lights, sereral times brighter than any visible star one apparantly directly above the other.
Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
The 2 lights remained stationary to the south for perhaps 45 Sec - 1 Min then faded rapidly as if moving away at great speed, first the top then the bottom one.
A few minutes later a single bright light became visible travelling south to north across the sky. This did not appear to be a satelite as the intensity of the light faded in as it became visible then out as it dissapeared and the object was only visible over a fairly short arc.

Any additional comments:
At the time the sky was fairly clear with about 3/10 broken cloud and many stars visible. The lights seen were almost due south and at an elevation of about 30 degrees.
I have watched the passage of aircraft and satelites at night many times and was surprised by the behaviour of the lights observed.
