very large red light .stationary then moved upwards

i spotted it as we were leaving a car park on folkestone road,we were just going in the opposite direction then my husband saw it inthe rear view mirror my eldest son who is twelve then looked round and saw it start to go upwards in the sky my husband went to the next turning we turned the car around and went back in the car park were we had been to see if we could see it but we couldnt .yes it was bonfire night but this was much to big to be a firework it was hugeand very red.
