CSIGHTING DETAILS
What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
It appeared to be rectangular and upright. I could not tell what size as there was nothing to compare it to. However it could not have been very big because it was below the light cloud covering. It slowly glowed between red and orange, the light also glowed around the object (we noticed the light reflecting from the surface). It made no sound that we could hear, it then slowly zig-zagged 'smoothly' in a NE direction and disappeared from view over rooftops.
Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
It just slowly and effortlessly zigzagged. This was certainly no helicopter or aeroplane, as the light did not disappear as when a helicopter or aeroplane banks.
Any additional comments:
This was instantly something very strange and like nothing I have ever seen. It certainly was no balloon or ball lightening etc. This object had purpose, its motion was calculated and regular - as if it was surveying/mapping. We live near Coventry airport and not far from Birmingham, we see many aircraft day and night, but never like this.
