SIGHTING REPORT UFO sighting at Combe Martin, North Devon

Cigar shaped, about the size of a single decker bus. Five portholes or round markings along the side. Dome or fin on top of the "blunt end" of the cigar shape, a wire or rope with sparks coming from it underneath the very end of the "blunt end". Shiny silver in colour and silent. Hovered above centre of football pitch in broad daylight and witnessed by my friend, my younger brother and myself. Observed from a distance of about 60m for approximately 3 or 4 minutes.

First spotted as a distant shiny speck in the sky I called to my friend and brother to come and see and in the time it took to turn back it was hovering above the football pitch. It then glided silently, following the contours of the hill into which the football pitch was cut, up the hill and descended into some market gardens above the playing fields, where we lost sight of it.

My friend, my brother and I contemplated going up the hill to see where the "spaceship" had landed but lost our nerve and fled home to explain franticly what we had seen to our respective parents (who clearly knew we had seen something but wouldn't come with us to look). I have lost contact with my friend over the years, but recently drew the UFO on a piece of paper and showed it to my brother who stated without prompting what I had drawn. I've been ridiculed by nearly all who I've recounted this sighting to, with comments like how come no one else saw something like this in on a bright July evening. I would dearly just like to know what I saw.
