What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour:
difficult to gauge, I estimate that the altitude was in excess of 50,000 ft. Viewed objects (2)through a x10 power telescopic sight. appeared to be conical with perhaps 3 profections / legs.
Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:
I noticed the first object and thought that it was an early evening star, but it appeared to be moving. I observed this for a couple of minutes when I saw an identical object following the same path.
The first object then slowed and the second caught it up, then both proceded to move off at the same velocity and direction maintaining the same relative position.

Any additional comments:
I am an aerospace engineering consultant and a former chief pilot of an African cargo airline with many flying hours and over 17 years in the business, therefore I am not easily fooled when it comes to aircraft and their recognition.
I have observed satellites and weather ballons but never before have I seen one appear to stop and wait for another to reposition alongside.
It is still very fresh, having occurred about half an hour ago and I'm at a loss for a viable explanation other than that of I've just witnessed a UFO flypast.
