Chazy Lake sighting report sparks wave of similar claims across upstate New York
A witness who identified themselves as military told the National UFO Reporting Center they saw blue orbs, each about the size of a pickup truck, moving around Chazy Lake near Dannemora on 16 September before the objects hovered and shot straight upward, in an encounter lasting about two minutes. After the report was published, hundreds of people across upstate New York said they had seen similar lights near Lake Delta, Oneida Lake, Canandaigua, Albany International Airport, Lake George and Cayuga Lake. The original claim has not been independently verified, and no official body has commented; the outlet notes drones, aircraft, satellites, Starlink, the ISS or an optical illusion could explain some sightings.
